Our Food Roots Supports Next Generation of Agri-Food Advocates
Our Food Roots was delighted to partner with Certified Irish Angus to support the Class of 2028 finalists at their induction day in Bord Bia’s Global Hub.
The session focused on helping students explore why their topics matter and building confidence in how they communicate their ideas. It was a day marked by energy, curiosity and strong perspectives.
The collaboration highlights the importance of connecting the next generation with the agri-food sector and equipping them with the tools to communicate with clarity and confidence.
World Without Cows: The Pasture Paradox – Launch Event
Exploring the future of Irish dairy and the role of pasture-based systems, Our Food Roots was pleased to contribute to a recent launch event hosted by Alltech Ireland for the screening of The Pasture Paradox, part of the wider World Without Cows series.
The documentary examines how Ireland can meet both local and global demand for dairy, while protecting the land and water that are central to its production.
The Big Interview: Reconnecting Consumers with Farming
In a recent interview with the Irish Farmers Journal, we highlighted a growing disconnect between consumers and the realities of Irish food and farming.
The interview underscores the opportunity to rebuild understanding and trust - particularly among an “undecided” audience - by strengthening the emotional connection to farming and telling a clearer, more evidence-based story of the sector’s role in society.
Bord Bia Meat Marketing Seminar
On a panel titled The Divided Public, we explored the challenges and opportunities in communicating about food and farming - particularly in relation to the role of meat in a balanced, nutritious diet.
The session highlighted the importance of clear, evidence-based communication to build understanding and trust, especially among younger audiences navigating an increasingly complex food landscape.
Raising Rural Voices: Empowering the Next Generation of Farming Advocates
In October we completed a very successful 2-day workshop in Naas titled Raising Rural Voices for some of our audience influencers.
This event brought together farming content creators from across the country to explore how passionate advocates can better promote our food & farming sector through the power of social media. It provided communications and storytelling training for 20 emerging social influencers from farming backgrounds.
